Support
Help with Lavio, and answers to the questions people ask most.
Get in touch
Email support@newthird.co and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
It helps to tell us which iPhone you have, its iOS version, and the version of Lavio (in the app, under Settings › About). There’s no need to include the names of your medications.
Reminders
I’m not getting reminders
Work through these in order:
- In Lavio, go to Settings. If Notifications says Off, tap it, then tap Open iOS Settings and turn on Allow Notifications.
- In Lavio, under Settings › Notifications, check Dose Reminders is on. Each medication has its own Remind me switch too, when you edit it.
- As-needed medications don’t send reminders. Log them whenever you take them.
- Reminders at a dose’s time are Time Sensitive, so a Focus such as Do Not Disturb or Sleep lets them through, as long as it allows time-sensitive notifications, which it does unless you’ve turned that off. If a Focus still holds them back, add Lavio to its apps: in the Settings app, go to Focus, choose the Focus, then Apps.
- If you use Scheduled Summary, leave Lavio out of it so reminders arrive on time. It’s in the Settings app, under Notifications › Scheduled Summary.
- iOS lets an app schedule only so many reminders ahead, so Lavio tops them up whenever you open it. When it’s running out, the last one says “Open Lavio to keep reminders coming”. Open it then, or every few days.
If a medication keeps the gap between doses, its next reminder waits until you’ve logged or skipped the one before.
Reminders don’t make a sound
When your iPhone is on silent, reminders arrive without one. Sounds and banners for Lavio are set in the Settings app, under Notifications › Lavio.
Can I log a dose from the reminder?
Yes. Press and hold the reminder, then tap Log Dose, which opens Lavio to save it. Or tap Remind Me to hear again a little later, even with the app closed. You can choose how long it waits in Lavio, under Settings › Notifications › Snooze Interval.
Medications due at the same time come as one reminder, and its Log All button logs them all together.
Can I keep medication names off my Lock Screen?
Yes. In Lavio, go to Settings › Notifications and turn on Hide Medication Names. Reminders and the Live Activity then say “Your 9:30 AM dose” instead of the name.
Why did I get a second reminder?
If a dose isn’t logged, Lavio reminds you again 15 minutes after its time, unless you’ve snoozed it. Logging or skipping the dose cancels it. To change the wait or turn it off, go to Settings › Notifications › Follow-Up Reminder in Lavio.
Lavio Pro
How do I restore Pro?
Pro belongs to your Apple Account, so it works on any iPhone signed in to the App Store with it, and Lavio checks for it when it starts. If Pro isn’t showing, go to Settings in Lavio, tap Lavio Pro, then tap Restore Purchase.
Still missing? Check you’re signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought it with.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. It’s a one-time payment. Reminders and your dose history are always free, for up to 3 medications.
Can I try Pro first?
Yes. You can try Pro free for 14 days, once per Apple Account: tap Lavio Pro in Settings, then Try Free for 14 Days. When the trial ends, it simply stops, and nothing is charged. Medications you added keep their reminders, but adding more than 3, the Live Activity, the export and app icon colors need Pro.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
Moving to a new iPhone
Lavio keeps your medications and dose history on your iPhone only, and out of iCloud and computer backups. Setting up a new iPhone from a backup won’t bring them across, and a direct transfer isn’t guaranteed to either.
Before you switch, export your dose log to keep a record. It lists each medication with its dose and schedule, and every dose you’ve taken. Then add your medications again on your new iPhone, and restore Pro as above.
The exported log is a record to read, not a backup, so it can’t be imported.
Exporting your dose log
With Pro, go to Settings in Lavio and tap Export Dose Log. You’ll get a plain-text list of your medications and every dose you’ve logged or skipped, ready to send to your doctor or pharmacist, or to keep in Notes.
Deleting your data
To stop a medication but keep its history, press and hold it on the Medications tab and choose Archive. Its reminders stop, and you can restore it later. Without Pro, a restored medication counts toward the 3 you can have free.
To delete one medication and its history, press and hold it and choose Delete Medication. To delete everything, go to Settings in Lavio and tap Delete All Data. Deleting the app removes everything too.
There’s no copy anywhere else, so deleted data can’t be recovered. For more on how Lavio handles your information, see the Privacy Policy.
Not medical advice
Lavio is a reminder, not medical advice. It doesn’t know your medication, your dose or what else you take, and its warnings about early or extra doses only go by the schedule you entered. Always follow the instructions that came with your medication, and your doctor or pharmacist.
If you’ve missed a dose or taken too much, ask your pharmacist or doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
