Lavio

Privacy Policy

Lavio is built to know as little about you as possible. What you add stays on your iPhone, and we never see it.

Updated

In short

  • Your medications and dose history are kept only on your iPhone.
  • No account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
  • Nothing you add is sent to us, or to anyone else, unless you share it yourself.

What Lavio keeps on your iPhone

Lavio saves what you add to it, inside the app on your iPhone:

There’s no account and nothing to sign in to, so Lavio never asks for your name, your email address or anything else about you.

What we collect

Nothing. Lavio has no server of its own and doesn’t send your information anywhere. There are no analytics, ads, crash reporting or tracking of any kind, and it doesn’t use your location, contacts, photos or Apple Health data.

The only time it goes online is to check with the App Store about Lavio Pro, below.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled by Lavio on your iPhone, as ordinary iOS notifications. They aren’t push notifications, and nothing about them passes through a server.

Each reminder shows the medication’s name, so it can appear on your Lock Screen. To keep names off it, turn on Hide Medication Names in Lavio, under Settings › Notifications: reminders and the Live Activity then say “Your 9:30 AM dose” instead. Or, to hide what a reminder says until your iPhone is unlocked, open the Settings app, go to Notifications › Lavio › Show Previews, and choose When Unlocked.

Widgets and Live Activities

The Lavio widget and Live Activity show your medications and the day’s dose times on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, where anyone holding your iPhone can see them. Lavio passes them what to show on your iPhone, and it goes nowhere else. You can remove the widget, or turn the Live Activity off in Lavio under Settings › Notifications, at any time.

Backups

Lavio keeps your medications and dose history out of iCloud and computer backups. That also means a backup can’t bring them back: if you delete Lavio, or set up a new iPhone from a backup, they won’t come with it. The widget keeps its own small copy of the day’s doses, which iOS may include in a backup.

To keep a record of your doses, export your dose log first.

Sharing your dose log

With Pro, you can export your dose log: a plain-text list of your medications, their notes, and every dose you’ve logged or skipped. Lavio hands it to the iOS share sheet, and you choose where it goes, such as a message to your doctor or a note to yourself. Once it’s shared, it’s looked after by the app you sent it with.

Buying Lavio Pro

Pro is a one-time purchase through the App Store. Apple takes the payment and looks after your Apple Account under Apple’s Privacy Policy, and we never see your payment details. Lavio asks the App Store whether Pro has been bought with your Apple Account, and remembers the answer on your iPhone.

What Apple may share with us

If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn this off in the Settings app, under Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

If you test the beta

If you join the Lavio beta through TestFlight, Apple shares some information with us to help us test it: crash reports, basic usage such as installs and sessions, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send. TestFlight shows what it shares before you install the beta. We use it only to find and fix problems, and the app itself still sends nothing.

Deleting your data

There’s no other copy, so once it’s deleted, it can’t be recovered, by you or by us. Your Pro purchase isn’t affected, because Apple keeps it with your Apple Account.

This website

This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies: no analytics, ads or tracking. It’s hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep a log of each visit (your IP address, your browser, the page, and the page that linked to it) to run and protect the site, under Netlify’s Privacy Policy.

If you choose light or dark with the switch at the top of the page, your browser remembers the choice on your device. It’s never sent to us.

If you email us

We get your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply. We don’t add you to any list. The conversation stays in our email account, and we’ll delete it if you ask.

Children

Lavio doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
